According to reports, a civil court in the city has stayed the release of Selvaraghavan's upcoming film Aayirathil Oruvan, which was scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal.

Chandrasekharan, producer of Ghajini has sought a stay order on AO release. According the plaintiff, the producer had entered into an agreement with Selvaraghavan for making a Tamil film Kasimedu and also has paid Rs. 1.10 crore for the production of the film. But neither the film was completed, nor the director returned the money.

Reportedly their agreement spelt out that unless Kasimedu was completed, Selvaraghavan could not undertake any other project. Now with AO all set for a Pongal release, Chandrasekar has sought a stay order on AO release until he gets his due back. The court has stayed the release on AO till January 20th. Now an out of court settlement is being worked out by the parties.

Let's hope that things will be sorted out and the movie will release as scheduled.
